Experience
In addition to serving their own clientele, from May
2002 to July 2007, Mike & Adam were also retained as
consultants in the case planning department of Sigma
Financial Corporation. They provided: training, advice,
investment strategies and financial planning recommendations
to approximately 1,200 investment professionals across the
country.
As “The
Planner’s Planner,” they have had the opportunity to
effectively address a wide variety of unique planning
challenges. From the best ways to not outlive one’s money
in retirement, to transferring wealth with a minimum of
taxes while maintaining maximum control.
In addition,
both Adam and Mike’s families have owned or continue to run
small businesses. It’s literally in their blood, enabling
each to relate to small business owners’ unique needs.
Simplicity
Clients also appreciate how Mike & Adam are able to help
simplify their lives. Each serves as their client’s main
resource for all their financial planning and investment
management needs, providing comprehensive financial
counseling.
For those
services which they do not personally provide, they connect
clients with the necessary financial professionals whom
offer the same high level of service. Mike & Adam work
closely to coordinate with their clients’ certified public
accountant, estate planning attorney, and mortgage
consultant by attending meetings in person or via phone when
necessary.
They also
provide their clients with custom in-house reporting that
clearly communicates the progress that is being made towards
the clients’ goals.
Their Motto
Organize. Simplify. Plan.
This quote
primarily summarizes Mike & Adam’s philosophy as to why they
are in this business. They make a
positive difference, helping clients lead a more balanced
life and have fun doing it, all while feeling the comfort of
knowing a secure plan for the future is in place.
They strive to
allow clients to live life to the fullest now, while not
worrying about potentially jeopardizing future financial
goals. Finally, Mike & Adam help plan for situations that
most clients never even think about.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL
PLANNER™ Designation
The selection of a financial planner may be the
most important decision in a clients’ retirement planning
journey. The planner should be able to play a central role
in helping clients meet their life goals and achieve
financial well-being. Today, financial planners can be
found in numerous venues, including brokerage firms, banks,
insurance companies and independent financial planning
practices like RFC Financial Planners.
One way to
differentiate advisors who are committed to competent and
ethical behavior is to look for the CFP®
or CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. This
designation is earned by planners who have successfully met
stringent requirements encompassing Education, Experience,
Ethics and Examination.
Other
questions to ask when choosing a planner include:
1. What
experience do you have?
2. What are your qualifications?
3. What services do you offer?
4. What is your approach to financial planning?
5. Will you be the only person working with me?
6. How will I pay for your services?
7. How much do you typically charge?
8. Could anyone besides me benefit from your
recommendations?
9. Have you ever been publicly disciplined for any unlawful
of unethical action?
10. Can I have it in writing?
